Enrolling in classes is your first step. Make sure you join a NSU phlebotomy course ASAP to complete these tasks:

• 20 hours of basic lessons
• 20 hours of advanced lessons
• 40 hours of hands-on training in a clinic
• 50 successful venopinctures on live patients
• 10 successful epidermal punctures on live patients
• Retrieve your certificate of completion from your training program.
• Take the national phlebotomy exam.
• After the exam is finished, pay your app. fee online. Sign and send the atteststation page to the West Virginia DHS-LFS center. 
• Send over the necessary high school transcripts to DHS-LFS.
